My Rebound Girl

My Rebound Girl stars Alex Gonzaga in her first solo movie along with Joseph Marco, directed by Emmanuel Dela Cruz, under Regal Films and it is set to premiere this September 28.

Also Starring: Martin Escudero, Nathalie Hart, Mitoy Yonting, Carl Guevara, Alora Sasam, Helga Krapf, Anna Vicente, Pinky Amador, Racquel Villavicencio, Lawrence Yap, Nico Nicolas

The past is like a drug. Mahirap bitiwan, nakakamiss. Safe and sweet.

Rocky is a simple, feisty tomboy trying to figure out her path in life. Parang ligaw na tuta--loyal, medyo madumi, malakas tumahol at malakas kumain. There's nothing special about her, nothing out of the ordinary. Without much to fall back on, she partners with her current boyfriend TIMMY, and college friends BEA & JAIME, to convert her old family home into a hip coffee shop in Maginhawa--the PERFECT BLENDS CAFE.

Perfect na sana ang lahat. Pero perfect din ang timing ni Timmy--as their main financier, he breaks up with Rocky and quits the cafe just when they were about to open, halting the entire project. As usual, pinagpalit nanaman si Rocky sa ex-girlfriend. Hindi na ito nakakatuwa. Rocky almost gives up on life, but a hard-headed, overbearing man comes in to save the day.

His name is RICH MAGSANOC (29), Jaime's old friend who owns a dying coffee farm. Pogi, maalam sa business. Sa simula pa lang ay matapang na ang timpla sa pagitan ng dalawa--Rich acts like they need him more than he needs them, and so does Rocky.

Rich offers to finance the cafe on the condition that he supply their beans exclusively, and that he become 1st manager. They end up in a stalemate: since they're using Rocky's house, they'll co-manage Perfect Blends. And they'll use Rich's beans only after Rocky approves of the quality.

They visit Rich's coffee farm, where Rocky learns that Rich is desperately trying to revive it to convince his mother not to sell it to a real estate developer. She also learns that Rich has just been cheated on and broken up with by his long-time girlfriend.

And so the project resumes. Rocky is busy with finalizing their signature blends, Rich with the business aspect of the cafe. In the process, they slowly get to know each other. Banter turns into budding friendship. Disagreements become dates.

Hanggang sa umamin si Rich. Hindi makakibo si Rocky. Alam na niya kung saan papunta ito. Hindi pwede. Hindi siya papayag maging panakip-butas. Pero pumayag pa rin siya.

With their blossoming romance overshadowed by Rich's recent breakup, Rocky consciously tries to avoid becoming another rebound girl. Pressures from the cafe also start to affect their relationship. When the café finally opens, Rich's ex-girlfriend reappears. Parang apparition--biglaan, nakakagulat, nakakatakot. Ang sakit. Ang sakit sakit.

Will Rocky give up or will she fight for the love that she deserves? Will Rich choose the easy way, or will he dare to jump? Could they be the perfect blend? O baka mapait lang talaga? A relatable, heart-wrenching yet heart-warming story that will hit you hard with reality--but it might just heal your bitter, black, broken heart.
