Synopsis:
As a child, Deok Soo loses his father and younger sister while escaping from the war torn North Korea. Left only with the ripped sleeve of his sister's dress, he has little hope to ever see his family reunited again. When Deok Soo and his remaining family arrived in the southern port of Busan, South Korea, they were taken by their Aunt, who owns a stall in the Gukje Market. While he, his mother and younger siblings struggle to live after the war as refugees, Deok Soo never forgets the weighty promise he made to his father-to always protect and take care of his family.
