The 1st conference of the 11th
season of the Shakey’s V League wrapped up and the Far Eastern University Lady
Tamaraws emerges as the champions, after defeating the defending champions
National University Bulldogs in 2 games both in 3 straight sets victory, Guest
Player and former FEU Star Rachel Anne Daquis emerges as the finals MVP.
This is the 1st time that FEU enters the
finals and eventually winning their 1st ever championship titles in
the SVL after 11 years of playing in the league; their highest placing was when
they placed 3rd in the league’s 9th season. FEU meanwhile
has the most championship in UAAP with 29 championship titles, the last one
they won in 2008.
In the Battle for 3rd Adamson Lady
Falcons also sweep the UST Tigresses in 2 games, the 1st one in 4
sets and the 2nd game in 3 straight sets.
Special awards were given in the 1st game
of the finals, the Best Scorer goes to Ennajie Laure, Best Blocker for Marivic
Meneses, and Best Digger for Dancel Dusaran all of them are from UST, meanwhile
the Best Receiver award was given to Cristine Agno and the Best Setter was
awarded to Yna Papa, both are from FEU. Best Attacker goes to Adamson Guest
Player Pau Soriano and Most Improve Player goes to Sheila Pineda also from
Adamson, NU Lady Bulldogs Team Captain Dindin Santiago bagged the Best Server
and the Season’s MVP award.
The Open Conference of the Shakey’s V League will
begin right after the Philippines Superliga Finals by July.
