The Second round of elimination in the Basketball tournament of the 88th season of the NCAA kicked off yesterday at the Arena in San Juan. the first game is between the San Sebastian Golden Stags against the EAC Generals and the second game between the San Beda Red Lions against the Lyceum of the Philippines Pirates.
The EAC Generals pulled off a surprise win after defeating the San Sebastian Goldens Stags 77-67, Though their head coach Gerry Esplana is not with them due to suspension that he got alongside with two key players of EAC namely Francis Munsayac and Jorem Morada due to the almost melee between them and some players of the CSB Blazers on their last game.
Russel Yaya, Cedric Noube Happi, and Igee King led the EAC Generals in Shutting down the San Sebastian Stags producing 18 points for Yaya and 17 points each for Happi and King. Meanwhile Ian Sangalang led the Stags after producing 24 points in losing effort meanwhile Calvin Abueva and Ronald Pascual the tandem that killed the Red Lions on their last game only produced 10 and 9 points respectively.
San Sebastian dropped to 7-3 Win Loss record, while on EAC got their 3rd win of the season
On the second game The San Beda Red Lions easily handed Lyceum's 8th defeat after a 77-47 game yesterday, Jake Pascual led the Red lions in winning the game while on the other hand Chris Cayabyab leads the Lyceum producing 11 points. San Beda holds the Top spot with 8-2 win loss record
