Anjo Damiles: Of Music, Action & Boy's Love

Many young actors consider doing action packed projects as part of their check list in entering showbiz and Anjo Damiles is one of those dreamt of becoming an action star, "Syempre iba pa din yung nakapag action ka eh, although nagawa ko na one time iba pa din yung ikaw ang bibida sa ganun (action movie), ikaw yung magoorchestrate ng mga fight scenes, sayo nagsisimula at matatapos yung eksena" Anjo said on why doing an action flick is one of his dream roles.

Anjo has portrayed several roles in different movies, but the ones that really left a mark are the movies where he portrayed the roles of LGBTQ members, such as Pang MMK from 2018 where he did raunchy scenes with Neil Coleta and last year's Ang Henerasyong Sumuko Sa Love opposite Jerome Ponce that really went viral because of the intimacy of their characters.

Going back to doing Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love, Anjo said  he just took his time knowing his character well and his partner's character as well so that there will be no gap between him and Jerome in the movie, he consulted his director first on what his character and partner will be and what type of character will they be doing, so they could deliver the role in the best way possible.

Since Anjo isn't that new to playing roles with same sex attraction, I asked him if he is willing to do a Boys' Love series as well since the genre has become one of the big hit of 2020 and well he is game in doing one and he would love to share the screen with either Kristoffer Martin or Martin del Rosario.

It would be nice if GMA would consider that one with him.

Meanwhile, Anjo has found his new home with Jonas Gaffud's Empire Studios and in his new home he was able to explore more of his talent and passion as he is now able to pursue his first love which is singing.

In the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines coronation night, Anjo along with Allen Cecilio and Kevin Montillano performed the song Kalawakan for the Evening Gown segment of the pageant. Anjo also covered several songs that can be viewed on Empire's Youtube Channel.

Next feature, we will get to know more about Anjo Damiles when it comes to fitness and how does he landed on those skimpy underwears in a fashion show.

UAAP Cancels 83rd Season

The Board of Trustees of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines has decided to officially cancel their 83rd season, in a meeting earlier today the league has decided that the cancellation is a way to give their member schools ample time to prepare their athletic programs for next season instead and also for the schools to focus more on what is needed in their academic year.

As to what are the implications will be with this cancellation, the board of trustees and the managing directors will further discuss. One of the major implication is the playing years of those who weren't able to finish their season 82 which was cancelled earlier this year and also the graduating players that will not be able to play their final year this season 83.

Earlier this week, the UAAP commissioner has said the probability of playing two sports for the Season 83, but with the season already cancelled we'll just see everyone next season 84.

Anjo Damiles: Sweet, Hot, and Action Packed.

It's December, we are on the last month of the year 2020 and we are also on our last guy for 2020 and to perfectly end the year we got a sweet and feisty guy for our last feature for the year and he is non other than Anjo Damiles.

Born Joseph Roland Damiles, Anjo started out in showbizness back in 2010, he recalled that his first gig was to be part of a magazine's list of cute boys, he was 14 back then. His career finally took off when he was first introduced to be the newest leading man of Julia Montes in Doble Kara in 2015 although some things changed in the series still Anjo managed to became a regular in the after noon series.

"I was doing my best naman, sabi ko eh kung ikagaganda naman ng show yung pagdadagdag ng cast, ako okay lang ako dun" Anjo said when I asked him what was his reaction on his stint in the serye.

Fast Forward 2020, Anjo made a big move for his career as he transferred to GMA network in 2019. He said that the move was him wanted to work and pursue his passion in acting as well, so far he has done several episodes from different drama series of the network and being in the new network he was given a more matured characters to play with far from the roles he was portraying before, he is also paired with veteran actresses like Sheryl Cruz and Tina Paner.

"Yung roles ko kasi dito sa GMA, binibigyan ako ng mga matured roles kasi hindi naman tayo forever tweetums tweetums lang, tumatanda narin ako" he said why he said yes to doing mature roles on TV.

"Pero nandun pa din yung versatility na pwede ako tumawid parin (to do younger and wholesome characters), kahit nagmatured ako dito kaya pa din nila kong ilipat sa batang role" he added.

Anjo looks forward doing more projects with the network but due to the Pandemic everything were put on hold for the meantime, but he hopes that by next year everything will resume even with some restrictions

In our second part we'll get to know more of Anjo Damiles, his dream roles, his showbiz experiences and more on the second part of our feature.
