#NCAA93 Finals Game 2: San Beda Bagged 21st Title After An Empathic Game 2 Sweep Against Lyceum

The San Beda Red Lions just proved that they are the beat team in the NCAA after they swept away Lyceum Pirates 92-82 in the game 2 of the finals.

Before copping their 21st Basketball Title the Red Lions went through pin holes after Lyceum gavee them a run of their own to start the game on top 22-17, going through the second period the Pirates continues to control the game with a 47-41 lead at the end of the first half.

The Red Lions started to become more aggressive in the second half after they cut the lead down to just a single point 65-66. San Beda was able to complete a comeback after a 19-6 run in final period.

Robert Bolick led the roar of the Reds with 18 points, followed by Donald Tankoua with 17 points and 17 rebounds, Davin Potts added 15 points, Javee Mocon had 14 points, whil AC Soberano contributed 11

Christian Bables Quits Born Beautiful Series

In a statement released earlier today, Christian Bables has announced that he will no longer reprise the role of "Barbs" in Born Beautiful due to his managements decision to pull him out of the project.

Replacing Bables in the Idea First series is Martin Del Rosario.

Born Beautiful is a spin off from last years' hit dark comedy movie Die Beautiful starring Paolo Ballesteros, Ballesteros already revealed last week that he will be reprising the role of Trisha for a guest appearance in the series.

Another young lass from the province of Rizal is about to make her way to showbizness and her name is Jelai Espino. Jelai is a 15 year old lass from Taytay, Rizal who stands 5’ ft, with pretty face and charming aura, she is currently a Grade 8 student in San Beda College Taytay where she hopes to take up Law or Medicine after she graduated.

At 15, Jelai looks up to the Star for All Season Ms. Vilma Santos as her ultimate idol, she dreams of having a scene or atleast working with Vilma in her future projects, and as budding singer she dreams of collaborating with the Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo one day.

Speaking of singing, Jelai has her own debut single with a title “Huwag Mong Biruin” composed by no less than the Vehnee Saturno.

#UAAP80 28: UST ends losing streak, beats UE to get first win. La Salle outlast bitter rivals Ateneo to avoid sweep

In the final day of the elimination round one team successfully dodges a winless season and another one failed to keep their record undefeated.

UST ends their worst season on a high note after they outlasted the Red Warriors 88-85. Reggie Basibas played hero for the Tigers as he scored 21 points and 9 rebounds, Steve Akomo and Enrique Caunan gave UST a double double-double performance after producing 18 points and 20 rebounds for Akomo and 14 points and 11 rebounds for Caunan.

In the final match of the eliminations, the De La Salle Green Archers spoiled the sweep seeking Ateneo Blue Eagles after an intense 79-76 battle. Season 80 MVP Ben Mbala scored 28 points and 19 rebounds to carry the Green Archers to victory, meanwhile, Ricci Rivero added 21 points.

The Final Four matchup between number 1 Ateneo versus 4 FEU will be on Sunday, 4pm at the Araneta Coliseum, while number 2 La Salle battles number 3 Adamson on Saturday same place and same time.

 

#UAAP80 Juniors Basketball 11/11/17

 

The Juniors Basketball tournament of the 80th season of the UAAP kicked off today at the San Juan Arena.

In the opening game, last year's runners up the NU Bullpups crushed the UE Junior Warriors 107-69. Matthew Manalang top scored for the Bullpups with 20 points, while Agem Miranda led the Junior Warriors with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

In the second match, the Ateneo Blue Eaglets beats up the depleted Adamson Falcons 82-64. Kai Sotto led the Blue Eaglets with 24 points and 12 Rebounds, while Jose Sabandal had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Falcons in this game.

The Defending Champions, FEU-FERN Baby Tamaraws survived the late run of the De La Salle Zobel Junior Archers 71-67 for the third match of the day. LJay Gonzales led the charge for the Baby Tamaraws with 16 points, Chris Calimag led the Junior Archers with 17 points.

The USTHS Tiger Cubs dominates the UPIS Junior Maroons 97-62 to wrapped up the opening day of the Juniors Basketball, John Cansino led the Tiger Cubs with 28 points and 11 rebounds, while Matt Santiago led UPIS with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

#UAAP80 Day 27: FEU books last final four slot after stunning Adamson, spoils UP's chances.

After a series of highs and lows throughout the elimination round, finally the Far Eastern University Tamaraws was able to secure the last spot in the final four of the 80^th season of the men’s basketball of the UAAP after they beat up the number three seed Adamson Falcons 71-54.

FEU was able to held on to their slim lead at the first half of the game taking on a 19-17 lead in the opening period and finishing the first half 35-32. But going to the second half the Tamaraws became more aggressive as they began to pull away in the third period 52-44 and going to the final period the Tams were able to push their lead up to 17 points to secure the win and spot in the final four.

The Tamaraws were able to sync as one in this game with Arvin Tolentino leading the scorers with 14 points, followed by Richard Escoto with 11 points, and Prince Orizu with a double-double 10 points and 12 rebounds.

FEU barged in to the final four for the 9^th time in 10 years with a 7-7 win-loss card, their lowest record in 10 years.

The victory of the Tamaraws over Adamson erases all the chances of UP to atleast push a play off for the last spot, after they won over the NU Bulldogs in the first game 106-81.
