A Love To Last

 

ABS-CBN opens the year 2017 with the premiere of the much awaited family drama, “A Love to Last,” on Primetime Bida.

Topbilled by box office actress Bea Alonzo and sought after leading man Ian Veneracion, “A Love to Last” is a timely story about family and how love isn’t always what it seems to be. Andeng Agoncillo (Bea Alonzo), a bread-winner and a successful events organizer, has always believed in love. For her, love is being with the man she loves and having a happy family with him.
Unfortunately, her ideal fairy tale love story didn’t have its happy ending after she caught her fiancé cheating on her days before their wedding. But despite this, Andeng remains hopeful that love will still come her way.

Anton Noble IV (Ian Veneracion), meanwhile, thought he already found love. After many years of marriage, his wife Grace (Iza Calzado) decided to leave him and demanded for an annulment. He’s then left with their three children and became a single father, on top of his job as a president and CEO of his company.

Fate then brings them together in the most unexpected time and place. Never have Andeng imagined that she will find love in an older man— a much older man.  As she takes this risk, she also finds herself caught in the middle of Anton’s complicated life— dealing with the ex-wife and seeking acceptance from his kids.

How far will Andeng go to fight for the family she wished for and to fight for her place in Anton’s life?

Joining the cast of “A Love to Last” are Enchong Dee, Julia Barretto, Ronnie Alonte, JK Labajo and Hannah Vito. It is under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Richard Arellano with creative head Henry Quitain under the business unit headed by Lourdes De Guzman. Star Creatives is led by COO Malou Santos.

A Love To Last is set to premiere this January 9 on ABSCBN's Primetime bida replacing Magpahangang Wakas.

Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids Edition

Award-winning singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid is now regularly seen as one of the judges in “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on “It’s Showtime.” Next year, he is set to take on another task as a new Kapamilya: being a judge on “Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids.”

Ogie will sit in the jury alongside Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and Megastar Sharon Cuneta. The musical competition, which begins in January 7, 2017, will give total transformation to eight kiddie celebrity performers, who will impersonate local and international music icons and provide viewers with a concert-like entertainment experience.
“I feel like this is the perfect time set by God for me to come back here in ABS-CBN. And ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ really appeals to me. I do comedy, copying people, and singing,” he said.

A prolific artist with almost 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Ogie has sold gold- and platinum-selling albums, hosted game and variety shows, and written some of the most popular OPM songs for various Filipino artists.

What makes him a perfect judge for “Your Face Kids,” however, is his solid background as a comedian both on television and in film. Having received various awards for his comedy work, Ogie has played different characters and performed gags that appeal to an all-ages audience.

His expertise will be seen in “Your Face Kids” as he critiques the live performances of celebrity kids, namely child star Alonzo Muhlach, “The Voice Kids” Seasons 1 and 2 champions Lyca Gairanod and Elha Nympha, “The Voice Kids” artist Justin Alva, Yey! channel host Sam Shoaf, “Langit Lupa’s” Xia Vigor, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s” Awra, and “Dance Kids” champion AC Bonifacio of Lucky Aces.

the new challenge as head coach of the National University Bulldogs in the
UAAP.  We will always be grateful for the fruitful two years that he
nurtured the Red Lions, and for the many championships he helped win for
the school, especially the 2016 NCAA title, and the 2015 Fil-Oil Cup and

Seven Things You Need To Know About ABL

Filipino basketball fans got an early Christmas gift from ABS-CBN Sports + Action (S+A) when it began to air the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) last week. Featuring six club teams representing six different countries, the ABL offers viewers a different basketball experience, as it pits Filipino athletes with international players and local superstars from other Asian countries for an entire season.

 While the Philippines remains a juggernaut in the Southeast Asia basketball scene, our neighbors have also leveled up their play. And with reinforcements from other continents in the teams, each team brings its own unique flavor that makes ABL a venue for beautiful, exciting, and world class basketball action.

Want to know what else makes the ABL interesting? Read on.
1.) The ABL is home to some of the brightest stars in Asian basketball

Imports provide added muscle, height, and talent, but it will always be the local players that serve us the “heart” and the foundation of every team. Ready to lead their teams in terms of passion to win are players who fight for flag as members of their countries’ respective national teams. They are Singapore’s Wong Lei Wong, Hong Kong’s Chan Siu Wing, Malaysia’s Kok Hou, Vietnam’s Nguyễn, Thành Nhân, and the Philippines’ Bobby Ray Parks Jr. Also crowd favorites are brothers Seung Jun Lee and Dong Jun Lee, who are local celebrities in their native South Korea, where they also do hosting and modeling.

2.) ABL is all about growing basketball since its founding

ABL is a professional men’s basketball league launched in 2009 with the objective of further developing basketball across Southeast Asia and nearby regions. The first six teams that took part in it were the Brunei Barracudas, Kuala Lumpur Dragons, Satria Muda BritAma, Thailand Tigers, Singapore Slingers, and the inaugural champion, the AirAsia Philippine Patriots. The ABL champion competes in the FIBA Asian Champions Cup to represent Southeast Asia against other teams in the continent.

3.) The league has its own unique rules and features a quadruple round home and away format

In the ABL, each team gets to play in their hometown, defend their turf, and raise their flag while at it. It’s a refreshing scenario where teams get to visit different places, and possibly gain more fans in other countries. It’s bringing the sport closer to fans all over the region. Other league rules not seen in usual tournaments are: the top 4 teams play in the a best-of-three semi-finals, the first and second seed get home court advantage for the first and third (if necessary) games, and teams that advance from the playoffs play a best-of-5 finals series.

4.) ABL has two teams that are not from Southeast Asia

The league has gone beyond Southeast Asia with the entry of the popular Hong Kong Eastern Lions and Kaohsiung Truth (Taiwan), the first basketball team geared toward Christian ministry. Completing the teams this year are Saigon Heat (Vietnam), the first-ever professional basketball team in Vietnam; Singapore Slingers (Singapore), which first played in the Australian Basketball League and currently totes MVP Wong Wei Long; defending champion Westsports Malaysia Dragons (Malaysia); and our very own Alab Pilipinas (Philippines), led by former NU Bulldog Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and UST Tiger Jeric Fortuna.

5.) ALAB Pilipinas is the fourth team to represent the country in ABL

Before ALAB Pilipinas, there was AirAsia Philippine Patriots, anchored by Finals MVP Warren Ybanez, San Miguel Beermen, which relied on Asi Taluava, Chris Banchero, and former FEU star Leo Avenido, and the Pilipinas MX3 Kings that boasted of Willie Miller, Eric Salamat, and Val Acuna. Right now, the country has two ABL banners under its name. McC Cuan’s team, led by Parks and Korean national Seung Jun Lee, hopes to add a third one this year with the help of the likes of JR Cawaling, Jens Knuttel, Paolo Hubalde, and Hans Thiele.

6.) Teams from other countries have tapped Filipinos as imports

Yes, you read that right. As a testament to the prowess of Filipino basketball players, some of our homegrown players have suited up as imports for other teams in the ABL, the latest two were former FEU Tamaraws Achie Inigo and Raymar Jose who was signed by Kaohsiung Truth recently. Fellow UP Maroon Marvin Cruz played for the Bangkok Cobras, as did former Blue Eagle Jai Reyes, who also wore the Saigon Heat uniform. The likes of Justin Melton and Mo Tautuaa also played for the Malaysia Dragons, while Kris Rosales stood out for the Singapore Slingers. Joshua Muzon of Saigon Heat is also a Fil-American. Even our coaches are being imported too. Ariel Vanguardia, who guided Westsports Malaysia Dragons to the 2015-2016 season title, is a proud Pinoy.

7.) The ABL features players from all over the world

Each team in the ABL are allowed to have: two non-ASEAN citizen imports, three ASEAN imports, one player with one Southeast Asian parent, seven local players, or just go pure local. The USA has been the favorite source of reinforcement of teams in the league. This season, Chris Charles, Derek Hall, and Xavier Alexander lead the list of American imports. Other “world imports” in the ABL are South Korea’s Daniel Sandrin or Seung Jun Lee, Bahamas’ Ryan Moss, and Chinese Taipei’s Steven Guinchard.

Pinoy Boyband Superstar Grand Reveal Performances

The first member of #BoybandPh 🇵🇭, Niel Murillo, 17 @boyband_niel01, Kanto Boy Next Door ng Cebu. 

Niel made waves on the internet after his audition performance, reaching 1 million views in less than a week. Niel got the voice and of course the looks that made him one of the favorites early in the competition. 

Adding to his talent, another thing that caught many peoples attention was his back story, growing up in a family of 8 life wasn't that easy for Niel he had to stop going to school because of financial difficulties. Also if ever he wins in the competition Niel wants to help his brother see again. 

And now that Niel is official a part of #BoybandPH he can now reach all of his dreams.

The second member of #BoybandPh,Russell Reyes 18, the Fil Amazing Boy from Illinois. 

Joining PBS inspired Russell to embrace his Filipino Roots and part of it is understanding the Filipino Culture and to learn how to speak Filipino fluently. 

With a bit of language barrier Russell hopes that his musicality and charisma will be a big plus now that he is part of the #BoybandPH

The third member of #BoybandPH 🇵🇭 Ford Valencia, 21, @boyband_ford, Hunky Haranista ng Valenzuela

Ford is the breadwinner of his family, at a young age Ford worked as a waiter, mechanic, insurance agent, and a free lance singer to support his family and to support his studies in FEU before joining PBS. 

And now that he is officially part of #BoybandPH Ford has this boyfriend material look, soulful voice that perfectly fits for #BoybandPH.

Tristan was the dark horse in the competition, knowing that his inclusion on the top 20 was just out of luck, but it looks like that luck was with him throughout the competition as he barged in to the top 5 and become one of the official member of #BoybandPH.

The fifth member of #BoybandPH 🇵🇭 Joao Constancia, 19, @boyband_joao, Party Prince ng Macau

Joao was the last one to be called to become one of the #BoybandPH, but that doesn't mean he is the lowest among the last four as he is the second highest in terms of combined public votes and judges score. 

Joao's charm was simply irresistable, I should say he is one, if not the most charming in the competition. 

His combined boy next door- bad boy look attracts fans and making him an instant head turner. But more than his good looks his talent was also the reason why he is now part of the band. He's always a part of the best performing group throughout the competition.

Now that he is officially a part of the #boybandPH, Joao is expected to be the face of the group.

The members of the country's newest boy group "Boyband PH" was finally revealed, in the first episode of the two part finale weekend of the hit boyband search Pinoy Boyband Superstar Niel Murillo was named te first member of Boyband PH.

And just awhile ago the remaining six boyband hopefuls slug it out in their final solo performance with Joao opening the competition with his "Twerk it like Miley" performace, followed by Tony who sang "Kulang Ako Kung Wala Ka" and Ford who did his own version of "Without You"  then Mark sang "Mangarap Ka" and Tristan performed "Can't stop the Feeling" , and last to perform was Russell who belt out Adele's "All I Ask" 

In the end the four names called were Russell Reyes who got a perfect 100% combined Public Votes and Judges Scores, followed by Ford Valencia who scored a total of 82.03%
