Myx Music Awards 2016

Nadine Lustre was the run away winner of this years Myx Music Awards 2016 held at the Kia Theater in Cubao, winning 5 awards namely the Favorite Collaboration, Favorite Song, Favorit Female Artist, Favorite Song, Favorite Music Video and the Favorite Artist award. The annual music awards of the number 1 music channel in the Philippines "Myx" gave away 18 awards including two special awards.

Chinita Princess Kim Chiu is set to conquer the concert scene for her 10th anniversary in showbiz, entitled "Chinita Princess: The Funtasy Concert" that is set on April 9, at the Kia Theater in Cubao.

In the blogcon for her concert Kim revealed that she was surprised that Star Events offered her to do the concert for her 10th anniversary, the concert is also said to depict the life of Kim from being a simple Chinita Girl from Cebu to being the Chinita Princess today.

The Story Of Us

                                 

The love story of Tin and Macoy has just begun in "The Story of Us", but the series has already generated overwhelming positive feedback from the viewers and netizens for its very engaging storyline and beautiful scenes

                                                       

The series was mostly praised for its past paced story and beautiful scenic shots of El Nido, Palawan that was shown in the opening week. Aside from the astounding scenery and camera work, the performance of the cast was also praised specially Alyanna Angeles and Zaijan Jaranilla who played the young Tin and Macoy and because of that Star Creatives are already in talks of a solo project for the two young stars.

                                    

Many also commended the work of Dirk Richard Somes for the remarkable direction of the series, but th what truly made mark on viewers are Kim and Xian, who hshowed maturityin their performance that is far from their usual roles.

                                   

Entering their second week the plot thickens for Tin and Maccoy as they begin their story again in Manila, many problems and challenges will hinder their relationship that will result for Tin to go tothe US as she finally reconnects with her Mother.

                                       

How will Tin and Maccoy confront the challennges in their relationship?, Will the distance that separates tbem eventually make them give up on each other?.

Also in the coming weeks the show will pay tribute to migrant workers as they feature real stories and life lessons from featured OFW's in every episode of "The Story Of Us".

Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis

Star Cinema brings the Berlinale Film Festival Silver Bear Awardee film "Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis" closer to the Filipino audiences by staging a nationwide screening of the movie starting Black Saturday, March 26. Hele is an 8 hour long epic movie directed by the internationally acclaimed director Lav Diaz and stars two of ABSCBN's premiere leading men Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz. 

Andrés Bonifacio y de Castro is considered to be one of the most influential proponents in the struggle against Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines during the late nineteenth century. Today, he is still celebrated as the father of the Philippine Revolution. Director Lav Diaz examines this myth and undertakes another expedition into the eventful history

of his native land. The film’s various loosely interwoven narrative threads are held together by an exploration of the role of the individual in history and their involvement in political and social developments. Bonifacio’s widow is searching for her husband’s missing dead body; as she and her followers stumble deeper into the jungle, they become entangled in the dense thicket of their own guilt and responsibility. The Spanish governor tries to play off the various rebel factions and their utopian visions against each other. At the same time, a badly wounded companion of Bonifacio reflects upon the victims a revolution inevitably creates. The film’s high-contrast black-and-white photography makes the journey into the past abstract. Mythology, facts and a vibrant sense of history merge.

Piolo plays the role of Crisostomo Ibarra/Simoun, while JLC play the role of Isagani. Both characters came from Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, other cast includes Hazel Orencio as Oryang , Alessandra De Rossi as Cesaria Belarmino, Susan Africa as Aling Hule, Sid Lucero as Basilio, Angel Aquino, Bernardo Bernardo, and Cherie Gil portrays the role of Tikbalang.
