38th Metro Manila Film Festival winners

The Winners for the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival were already Revealed and Well 3 movies stand out namely El Presidente with 9 awards, Thy Womb with 7 awards, and One More Try with 6 Awards.

El Presidente bagged the 2nd Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor for Cesar Montano, Youth Choice Award, Best Dressed, Best Sound Engineer, Best Make Up, Best Festival Float, and Best Theme Song for Apl De Ap.

Thy Womb won the Best Actress for Nora Aunor (Her 8th Best Actress Award), Best Director for Brillante Mendoza, Best Original Story, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, MMFF Most Gender Sensitive Award, and the Gat Puno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award.

One More Try Bagged the Best Picture, Best Actor for Dingdong Dantes (Back to Back, he was last year's best actor for Segunda Mano), Best Child Performer for Miguel Vergara, Best Screenplay, Best Editing and the FPJ Memorial Award.

Sisterakas bagged 2 awards the 3rd Best Picture and the Best Supporting Actress for Wilma Doesnt, while Shake Rattle and Roll Fourteen received a special recognition for joining the festival for 14 years now they won the Best Visual Effects award. Going Home Empty handed are Si Agimat, Si Enteng, at Si Ako, The Strangers, and Sosy Problems.

Former President Erap Estrada and Nora Aunor were the male and Female Star of the Night, While Zanjoe Marudo and Bianca King were the Five Star Celebrity of the Night.

Miss Universe finally wrapped up and well Miss USA Olivia Culpo bagged the Most Coveted Crown in the Universe,

And of course our own Miss Philippines Janine Mari Tugonon almost had the crown placing 1st runner up this is the third straight year that a Miss Philippines placed in the Top 5 1st was Venus Raj in 2010, Shamcey Supsup last year, and also this is the 1st time after 13 years that the Philippines got the Hold of the 1st Runner Up position, The last one was Miriam Quiambao in 1999. 

Also part of the Top 5 are Venezuela: Irene Esser (2nd Runner Up) Australia: Renae Ayris (3rd Runner Up) Brazil: Gabriela Markus (4th Runner Up)
