In a sudden turn of events, Google has ended their business with the Chinese mobile brand Huawei, in an exclusive report by Reuterstoday the Alphabet Inc. Owned company has decided to halt their agreement over hardware, software, and technical services for Huawei.
This follows after the United States Government sought to blacklist the Chinese brand not only in their country, but around the world.
So what is the implication of this? Google has removed all software support, meaning the Android Q which is the next itteration of the Android OS will no longer be coming to all Huawei smartphones, although current owners of Huawei smartphones will still be able to use the Googe Apps and even security patches from Google will still be provided, but native apps like Youtube and GMail might be inaccessible for Huawei in the near future.
If you will remember Google and Huawei teamed up back in 2015 for the latter's Google Nexus 6p.

Tales of haunted houses and ghosts abound as materials for books and films. But seldom do we encounter tales that are sourced from what exist as elements of nature.
From the newspapers to the internet, there have been various articles that talk about strange experiences when one goes mountaineering. In the Philippines alone, there are certain mountains that are revered as sacred by mystics and healers while some are feared as cursed and should never be visited.
There have been reports about people getting lost in the forest, even though they have guides who have years of experience going up and down the mountain trails. In some cases, those who disappeared while on a hiking trail were never found.
More phenomenal are the experiences of people who feel a certain unexplainable presence while in the forest, even in the company of others. Needless to say, mysterious occurrences happen when people least expect it. Surprisingly, many people just can’t get enough of haunted mountain tales. It is perhaps one aspect of our local culture that we have a penchant for wanting to know more about the horrifying adventures into the unknown—regardless of how scary these tales seem to be.
And from these stories come the inspiration for the thriller “Banal,” a film about a group of young mountain adventurers who got lost in the dense forest. But since the movie is inspired by true events, it promises to go beyond basic and common narrative. There are several instances in the film that are said to be culled from actual experiences of those who have gone to the mountains and came back with the darkest and creepiest of experiences.
But “Banal” is not your typical horror movie. It talks about the issues most young people have to deal with such as growing up or “adulting,” family issues, and millennial situations life has to offer. Bringing these burdened young people into the woods just made things more complicated than it is supposed to be. Given these emotional overtures plus a myriad of supernatural experiences, this movie is indeed taking a different stance from the run-of-the-mill horror flicks.
“Banal” is top-billed by Bianca Umali, Miguel Tanfelix, Andrea Brillantes, Taki and Kim Last. It is produced by APT Entertainment. It will be shown in cinemas on May 29.
mustard music’s Joey tha Boy is set to claim the throne as one of the fiery up-and-coming rappers in the Manila scene with his latest single “Anotha Day”
A change of pace from his previous release “Fantasy (feat. Paolo Sandejas), the head-bopping track is a personification of Joey the Boy as an artist - flexing his skills in writing, making a beat, and showing off some personal swag as he raps about his rap idols, what makes him great, and what keeps him going from day to day.
Talking about the song, Joey says “it’s about my personal mindset towards my everyday life. I talk about my daily thought processes and opinions while implementing positivity towards them. I see a lot going wrong with the world, but I think we all shouldn’t be complacent with it. The song encapsulates my strive for to be great and make an impact as an artist.”
With this fiery-hot banger, Joey the Boy is set to wow hip-hop fans with his artistry and inkling for social commentary.

A
co-production fund of up to 2 million pesos will be given to these

For
its call for the last five (5) slots in the lineup, PPP is accepting
entries from Filipino independent production companies and major film

Selected
films will receive a co-production fund of up to 2 million pesos. This
includes 1 million pesos worth of publicity and promotion support from
sponsors and up to 1 million pesos worth of finishing funds or marketing

“We
always make sure that PPP showcases films that cater to the different

more variety to the films we already selected,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Mary Liza Diño.
PPP, a week-long event that exclusively screens quality Filipino genre films in all theaters nationwide, officially marks the “Sandaan,” the

the Presidential Proclamation 622 Series signed last November, FDCP, the

The multi-awarded period film “Quezon’s Game” directed by Matthew E. Rosen is set to hit Philippine cinemas this May 29, 2019.
Inspired by true events, “Quezon’s Game” pays tribute to former Philippine president Manuel Quezon’s heroism of rescuing around 1,200 Jews seeking refuge from the Holocaust. The film is a joint venture production of Star Cinema, ABS-CBN’s streaming service iWant, and Kinetek Productions, and it stars Raymond Bagatsing, Rachel Alejandro, and Kate Alejandrino.
ABS-CBN held a VIP Screening last May 7, 2019 at Power Plant Mall in Makati City attended by ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, ABS-CBN Chairman Martin Lopez, and Head of ABS-CBN Films Olivia Lamasan. Manolo Quezon III represented the Quezon family. Some government officials were also present during the event, namely Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Martin Diño and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
“Very few of us wouldn’t have the chance to live under the era of President Quezon, but his presence is immortalized in the lives of and descendants of more than a thousand people that he saved. President Quezon’s shining legacy is not just to the Philippines but to humanity,” said ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak.
Meanwhile, “Quezon’s Game” director Matthew Rosen emphasized about the compassion Filipinos have, which is reflected in the film. He stated, “This movie isn’t really about politics at all. In fact, this movie isn’t really about the life of Quezon. What this movie to me is really about is that culture that we as Filipinos have in this time where we shone a light of humanity when the rest of the world was drowning in the pity of their war.”
ABS-CBN also presented a video interview of Holocaust survivors Margot Pins Kestenbaum and Max Weissler who received help from Manuel Quezon and are currently living in Israel.
The film is supported by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and is part of Sandaan, the celebration of the One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema. "We are honored that Quezon's Game premieres in the Philippines just in time for our celebration of Sandaan where we recognize our legacy, our heritage, and the people and talents that have led us to the milestone. With films such as ‘Quezon's Game’ which not just educates, but enlightens a meaningful moment in our history, it makes Sandaan all the more significant," said Liza Diño, Chairperson and CEO of FDCP.
“Quezon’s Game” bagged more than 20 awards all over the world, including major prizes from Cinema WorldFest Awards in Canada, IndieFEST Film Awards in California, USA, and WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival in Texas, USA.
