FEU Finishes on Top of this year's National Cheerleading Championship


The Far Eastern University Cheering Squad clinched the top tier in the 14th National Cheerdance Championship held last Saturday, March 9 at the Mall of Asia Arena. The Tamaraw's Cheering Squad became the best cheerleading team in the country after they surpassed the best of the best teams in the Coed Cheer category of the Nationals. 

The Tamaraws performed a "Smooth Criminal" themed routine that placed them on top of the Basic Elements, Tossing, and Tumbling category, they scored a total of 338 points to finish on top over 7 other schools.

Meanwhile, the reigning CDC champions NU Pep Squad went home as first runners up, while the UE Pep Squad went home as the second runners up.

Rekindle The Music of Nonoy Zuniga Through The Years This March 13.



He has been in the music industry for more than 40 years and still the music of Nonoy Zuniga has become a timeless piece of art that translates to many generations until now. 

What was the secret in Nonoy Zuniga's 38 years in the industry? Well, he shared that aside from keeping himself fit (He is a Medical Doctor by Passion and Profession by the way, he graduated from UST with a degree in Medicine, imagine how he was able to juggle these two things when he was younger), he shared that he keeps himself upbeat with what's new in the industry today specially the songs, he said that he is a big fan of Ed Sheeran's songs and he loves to sing them specially the song "Perfect" that he had to re-arranged the beat to fit with his baritone voice. 

An almost four decade of career and passion for music is such an achievement and now to celebrate such milestone, Mr. Nonoy Zuniga is up for a show this coming March 13 at the Newport Performing Arts in Resorts World Manila with South Border, Mitch Valdez. Nyoy Volante, and introducing Jeselle Kempis.

Sinag Maynila 5 releases roster of competition films.




SinagMaynila, the once passion project of Solar Entertainment's Wilson Tieng is now on its 5th year,  the festival continues to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the independent film industry. In the official announcement yesterday at the Podium in Ortigas the festival has announced the official entries for this year's competition, having 5 full length films, 10 short films, and 5 documentaries. 

Heading the list of Sinag Maynila competition films are five full-length features: “Akin ang Korona” directed by Zig Dulay, “Jesusa” directed by Ronald Carballo, “Jino To Mari” directed by Joselito ‘Jay’ Altarejos; “Pailalim” directed by Daniel Palacio; and “Persons of Interest” directed by Ralston Jover.

Competing in the short film category are “Bisperas” by Ralph Quincena, “Dana Jung” by John Rogers, “Dude Pare Bro” by Lora Cerdan, “Kiss” by Harlene Bautista, “Kilos” by Marjon Santos, “Marian” by Brian Patrick Lim, “Memories of the Rising Sun” by Lawrence Fajardo, “Nagmamahal, Sal” by Jeff Subrabas, “Ngiti ni Nazareno” by Louie Ignacio, and “Panaghoy” by Alvin Baloloy.

Meanwhile, those competing in the documentary category are “At Home” by Arjanmar H. Rebeta, “Entablado” by Lie Rain Clemente and Nori Jane Isturis, “Hope Spots” by Joseph Dominic Cruz, “Hyatt: Mga Kuwento, Lihim at Katotohanan” by Jayvee V. Bucsit, and “Tata Pilo” by Dexter Macaraeg.

Sinag Maynila 5 is set to kick off this April 3 with “Lakbayan” a three-part omnibus film by Brillante Mendoza, Lav Diaz and National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik — all of whom are awarded at the Berlin International Film Festival and have made their marks in several international film fests.

The Sinag Maynila Festival proper starts on Thursday, April 4 in select cinemas. Winners of the Sinag Maynila 2019 competition will be announced at the Gabi ng Parangal to be held on Sunday, April 7. During the week, FDCP will be hosting a Fellowship Night for all the filmmakers and Sinag Maynila guests.

Vicks Philippines releases Anti-HIV Stigma Campaign Through A Short Film

Earlier this week Vicks Philippines releases a very brave advertisement on their YouTube channel that tackles a stop HIV Stigma campaign that aims to educate how important that other people will know what a PLHIV is going through, especially for kids with the virus and also how PLHIV's should be treated with care and love because at the end of the day these people they are still normal, they still can do what other normal people can do. 

It's not the virus that kills it is the lack of empathy, education, awareness, and love that kills these people. Vicks Philippines aim to raise funds, along with Project Red Ribbon to give hope and help children living with HIV in the country. HIV might not be curable for now, but it can be controlled with proper medical treatment.

Meet the New Richest Pinoy this 2019.



It has been 11 years that mall magnate Henry Sy Sr. has occupied the top spot in Forbes list of the richest Filipinos in the World, but sadly the Patriarch of the SM Prime Holdings has passed away earlier this year, but before his demise Sy, Sr. Has a net worth of $18.4 billion, according to Forbes. 

Forbes on their 2019 list of Billionaires released yesterday has named former Senate President and real estate bigwig  Manuel "Manny" Villar is now the Richest Filipino in the world with a net worth of $5.5 billion.

Villar owns Vista Land the largest home builder in the Philippines, their projects include Brittany, Crown Asia, Camella, Lessandra, and Vista Residences. Aside from these real estate properties Villar also owns a chain of malls such as the Vista Mall and Star Malls, and even retailing All Day Grocery and All Home. 

Moving second in the richest Pinoy list is John Gokongwei Jr. Of JG Summit with $5.1 billion, Gokongwei also owns the Robinson's Retail Holdings, Cebu Pacific Air, Universal Robina, Summit Media, and Digital Telecoms. 

Enrique Razon Jr. Jumps to #3 with $4.8 billion, Razon is the chairman of the International Container Terminal Inc, he also owns the Bloomberry Resort Co. Which owns the Solaire Resorts and Casino in Pasay City. 

LT Group's Lucio Tan moves up to #4 from last year's #7 with a net worth of $4.4 Billion, Tan owns Asia Brewery, Fortune Tobacco, Philippine National Bank, and the country's flagship carrier the Philippine Airlines. According to Forbes.com Tan used to be a janitor to put himself into school in FEU. 

Moving up to #5 richest is Jollibee's Tony Tan Caktiong, aside from owning the fastest rising Asian fast food chain, Tan Caktiong also Co owns the Double Dragon properties inc. Also the Jollibee Foods Corporation also owns several fast food chains like Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Chowking, and Mang Inasal, having more than 1000 stores worldwide. 

San Miguel Corporation's Ramon Ang is at #6 with $2.9 Billion, #7 is Mcdonalds and Megaworld's Andrew Tan. 

The Sy's are still on top of the list with Hans Sy, who serves as Chairman of National University wand Herbert Sy, who holds the SM Supermarket with both $2.4 Billion, both ranked at 8th, placing at 9th are Harley Sy of the SM Investments, SM Prime's Henry Sy Jr., and BDO's Teresita Sy-Coson with $2.2 Billion net worth, at 10th is SM Hotel's Elizabeth Sy with $1.9 Billion. The Search is ON for the next Queens of Binibining Pilipinas 2019


2018 was another successful year for Binibining Pilipinas after Karen Gallman winning the first Miss Intercontinental Crown for the Philippines earlier this year, Ahtisa Manalo placing as 1st runner up at the Miss International Pageant, Jehza Huelar finishing in the Top 10 of Miss Supranational, Michele Gumabao's Top 15 finish in the Miss Globe, and of course the victory of Catriona Gray in the Miss Universe Pageant last December.

Many speculations and rumors spread like a wild fire this past few months on whether the Miss Universe-Philippines title will still be on the roster of BPCI, and just last Friday, March 1. Michael V. Returns to Parody Music with "Uh-Oh"(Oo) by Up Dharma Down

Michael V is back in making parody music as he releases his newest spoof video "Uh-Oh" on Bubble Gang, the song was originally a song by Up Dharma Down entitled "Oo", the heartfelt break up song was turned into a cooking show as the song looks for a stove to cook in.
