Emma is all set to conquer the grandest stage in pageantry! At her official send-off press conference organized by the ALV Pageant Circle last September 26, she radiated confidence and grace while showcasing her wit, beauty, and readiness before the members of the press.
During the send off, Emma expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her team, mentors, and supporters who have stood by her throughout her journey. She also shared how she has been preparing rigorously—not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally—to proudly represent the Philippines on the international stage.
Gunning for a back-to-back win at Miss Grand International is no easy feat, but Emma is more than 100% ready to rise to the challenge. She has been diligently preparing for the competition, even visiting Bangkok recently to personally show the Thai people her excitement and readiness for the journey ahead in Thailand next month.
Part of her meticulous preparation includes working hand-in-hand with her team to collaborate with top designers for her wardrobe during her month-long stay in Thailand. She also revealed that her much-anticipated national costume will be created by renowned designer Patrick Isorena. It's going to be another masterpiece that will proudly showcase the rich culture and heritage of her home province, Pampanga.
It has been six years since Emma last graced the international pageant stage, where she placed in the Top 20 at Miss Intercontinental in Egypt. When asked what motivated her to join again, she revealed that she wanted to live without regrets or unanswered “what ifs.” This time around, Emma steps into the competition armed with years of experience, personal growth, and the valuable lessons she has gained from her career as a newscaster and TV host, skills that have sharpened her confidence, eloquence, and stage presence.
Emma, who currently works as a news anchor and host for several programs on Net 25, shared that working in front of the camera has greatly honed her communication skills and boosted her confidence. These qualities, she believes, will serve her well as she takes on the challenge of competing for a coveted back-to-back title for the Philippines.
When asked about the challenges of being a news anchor versus being a beauty queen, Emma explained that both roles carry their own kind of pressure. As a newscaster, she shoulders the responsibility of delivering accurate, unbiased information to the public, a task that demands clarity, precision, and integrity. Meanwhile, as a beauty queen, she faces the equally daunting pressure of representing the country on the international stage. Carrying the flag and embodying national pride, she believes, is just as challenging as it appears.
Emma is set to fly to Thailand this Monday, September 29, as she embarks on her Miss Grand International journey. The competition officially kicks off on October 1 and will run until the much-awaited Grand Coronation Night on October 18 at the MGI Hall in Bangkok. We are definitely wishing Emma all the best she sets her sights on bringing home that historic back-to-back crown for the Philippines!
