A Melody for the Mountains: Orange & Lemons and Valerie West Release “Heart of Ifugao”

Orange & Lemons returns to the music scene, this time lending their signature sound to emerging artist and Miss World Philippines – Ifugao 2026 candidate, Valerie Pawid West. Their collaboration brings to life “Heart of Ifugao,” a heartfelt tribute to the breathtaking wonders of the Cordilleran mountains.

Though raised in the United States, the 23-year-old Valerie has maintained a deep connection to her heritage. Through this song, she honors her Ifugao roots—celebrating the culture, landscapes, and identity that continue to shape who she is.

Members of the media were invited to the single’s launch on November 28 at 70’s Bistro in Quezon City, where Valerie took the stage to jam with Orange & Lemons. The event also featured an exclusive preview of the music video, which was filmed entirely in Ifugao.

Band frontman Clem Castro shared that shooting the music video was a unique and challenging experience. The team trekked through the mountains to capture the stunning vistas of Kiangan, Ifugao—Valerie’s home province. He also recalled that a passing typhoon added another layer of difficulty to the shoot, making the final product even more meaningful.

Orange & Lemons are no strangers to collaborating with beauty queens; in 2024, they teamed up with Chelsea Manalo for the song “La Bulaqueña.”

With this new release, “Heart of Ifugao” stands as both a musical homage and a personal testament to the power of embracing one’s origins, no matter the distance.

Meanwhile, Valerie Pawid West is set to represent the province of Ifugao in the upcoming Miss World Philippines 2026 pageant, which is scheduled to begin in just a few weeks.

“Heart of Ifugao” is now available for streaming on all major music platforms.

Chasing for Back-to-Back Pink Crown: Nikki Buenafe Cheveh Sets Sights on Face of Beauty International 2025

Nikki Buenafe Cheveh is all set to compete for a back-to-back crown for the Philippines at the upcoming Face of Beauty International on November 30 in Taipei, Taiwan.

At 26, the Pharmacy student is ready to proudly carry the Philippine flag on the global stage. For Nikki, wearing the Philippines sash has always been a childhood dream—one she worked tirelessly to fulfill, even joining Miss Grand Philippines earlier this year despite already holding a title from the previous edition of Miss World Philippines.

I vividly remember our short conversation during their closed-door interview for Miss Grand Philippines. I asked her what crown she hoped to win, and she eagerly replied that any crown would do, as long as it meant getting the chance to represent the Philippines.

And now, that dream is finally becoming a reality. Nikki remains unfazed by the challenge of vying for a back-to-back victory. As ALV said during her send-off press conference last Tuesday, “If Emma can do it, why can’t Nikki?”

Today, November 20, Nikki is set to fly to Taiwan—and all we have for her are our warmest wishes. May she shine on the international stage and bring home the second pink crown for the Philippines!

Best of luck, Nikki!

Bar Boys: After School — The Boys Are Back in Session This MMFF 2025!

Toran, Christian, Erik, and Joshua Returns.

The Bar Boys Are Back!

Ten years after leaving law school, Torran (Rocco Nacino), Erik (Carlo Aquino), and Christian (Enzo Pineda) have each carved out successful paths as lawyers. But as their careers flourish, life begins to test not only their friendship, but their personal lives in ways the courtroom never could.

Meanwhile, Joshua (Kean Cipriano), still searching for purpose, returns to where it all began — law school — hoping for a second chance at redemption and meaning.

As the four face their own battles and find new reasons to keep going, fate leads them back to Justice Hernandez (Odette Khan), their once sharp, snappy, and unyielding professor is now frail, weak, and in need of care. The friends come together to look after her, and in doing so, they discover that life isn’t just about winning or losing. It’s about living, about trying your best despite the failures, rather than being haunted by never trying at all.

Through the people they meet and the struggles they share, Torran, Erik, Christian, and Joshua finally understand what Justice Hernandez had been teaching them all along: that beyond the laws and the arguments, life itself is the greatest lesson of all, it's about experiencing life beyond the four corners of the classroom and courtroom.

Joining Rocco Nacino, Enzo Pineda, Kean Cipriano, and Carlo Aquino — together with Ms. Odette Khan — are Glaiza De Castro, Therese Malvar, Sassa Gurl, and introducing Klarisse De Guzman, Emilio Daez, and Will Ashley.

Bar Boys: After School is directed by Kip Oebanda and produced by 901 Studios PH. The film is an official entry to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival, premiering in cinemas nationwide this December 25.

The Last Flight of the Berbalang: Darkness Rises in #KMJSGabiNgLagimTheMovie

The second chapter in the chilling trilogy of KMJS Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie unearths the terrifying tale of the “Berbalang.”

The Berbalang are fearsome creatures from the southernmost part of the Philippines, said to dwell in the remote islands of Tawi-Tawi. According to local lore, these beings feed not only on the living but also on the dead. Stories of the Berbalang trace back to the late 19th century, passed down through generations of islanders who claim to have seen or heard them in the night.

Described as flying, human-like creatures with cat-like eyes, bat-like wings, and long, razor-sharp nails, the Berbalang are believed to exhume corpses from their graves to feast on their flesh. Their presence is often heralded by eerie sounds in the wind—an omen that the Berbalang are near, hungry, and watching.

The second chapter, “Berbalang,” follows the story of Delilah and Kain, portrayed by Sanya Lopez and Elijah Canlas. The couple lives a quiet, peaceful life in a remote town, far from prying eyes and the chaos of the world. But beneath the peace they are keeping lies a dark secret: Kain is the last of the Berbalang, a creature feared in the southern islands for feeding on both the living and the dead.

Their peaceful lives began to unravel when a string of mysterious deaths and missing corpses grip the town. Panic spreads as whispers of a bloodthirsty monster resurface, and suspicion turns toward anyone who seems different. As Delilah struggles to protect the man she loves, Kain must confront the truth about who—or what—he really is.

But the deeper they search for answers, the more chilling the question becomes: Is there another of Kain’s kind out there, or is the real monster human after all?

Starring alongside Sanya Lopez and Elijah Canlas are Rocco Nacino, Nicco Manalo, Charles Salazar, Mikoy Morales, Jojit Lorenzo, and Joel Saracho. The episode is directed by Dodo Dayao.

Catch KMJS Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie in cinemas nationwide starting November 26! Prepare to face the darkness where myth meets reality.

The Past Shakes, The Present Rattles, and The Future Rolls: #SRREvilOrigins Unleashes Its Official Full Trailer

From the eerie halls of a convent in the 18th century, to present day Halloween Masquerade Ball, to a dystopian Philippines in the future, the 17th installment of the classic Shake, Rattle, and Roll is bringing three stories of fear from different era this coming Christmas Day of 2025.

Regal Entertainment Inc. has officially dropped the official full trailer of their 51st Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Shake Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins. The trailer that was dropped Friday night (November 7) gives us a glimpse of what we will be expecting from the three latest tales of horror (soon to be classics) from the past, present, and future.

The first episode, set in 1775, follows a nun named Clara, portrayed by Carla Abellan. Gifted — or cursed — with clairvoyance, Clara begins to see shadows and eerie apparitions lurking within the monastery’s halls. But little does she know, a dark secret lies buried deep within the silent walls of the abbey, concealed beneath echoes of prayer and the blinding faith of those who dwell within. The nuns in the convent has to survive the night as darkness looms and an unknown creature wreaks havoc inside the convent

The second episode, set in 2025, follows a group of young Halloween partygoers led by Faye (Francine Diaz) and Sean (Seth Fedelin). What begins as a night of fun and thrill quickly turns into a nightmare, as a group of masked serial killers crashes their celebration, turning the party into a bloody hunt, claiming victims one by one.

As chaos unfolds, one question remains: will the survivors live long enough to see the future?

The third episode, set in 2050, revisits the aftermath of the Halloween massacre of 2025. Twenty-five years later, the Philippines has become a dystopian nightmare, ruled by the very beings once thought to be masked serial killers, now revealed as aswangs, terrorizing the nation.

At the forefront of the resistance to the aswang is Rosdan (Richard Gutierrez), alongside Edris (Ivana Alawi), whose mysterious connection to the fateful Halloween night drives the story forward. Together with a small group of remaining humans, they must fight to overthrow the aswangs’ reign of terror.

The question remains: will they survive long enough to reclaim their world, or is humanity doomed under the aswangs’ rule?

Silver Lining Shines: Natalie Puskinova of Czech RepublicCrowned Miss Earth 2025

In celebration of its grand silver anniversary, the Miss Earth pageant welcomed a stunning new queen: Natalie Puskinova of the Czech Republic! Crowned as Miss Earth 2025, Puskinova dazzled the judges and the world as she rose to victory among nearly 80 inspiring delegates from all over the planet.

Joining her on the elemental court were equally radiant titleholders:

  • Miss Air – Iceland

  • Miss Water – Vietnam

  • Miss Fire – Thailand

This year's crowning marks an interesting trend as it becomes the third straight year that a blonde beauty has taken home the Miss Earth crown. Following the reigns of Drita Ziri of Albania (2023) and Jessica Lane of Australia (2024), Puskinova’s win continues the golden streak.

And while the global spotlight shone on the winners, Filipinos had their own reason to celebrate. Our very own Joy Barcoma made a remarkable impression during the ever-challenging Hashtag round, ultimately earning a Top 8 placement.

As Miss Earth 2025 takes on her mission to raise environmental awareness, her reign remains a powerful reminder: Every pageant victory carries a silver lining, showing us not just the beauty of the Earth, but the hope we all share for a greener, brighter future

A Voyage into Terror: The Pocong Awaits in #KMJSGabiNgLagimTheMovie

The first of the three stories feature in the first ever KMJS Gabi ng Lagim The Movie is Pocong.

The Pocong: When the Sea Meets the Supernatural

Based on the infamous ghost of Indonesian folklore, the Pocong is believed to be the restless soul of a deceased person trapped in its own burial shroud. Wrapped in white cloth with its hands, feet, and head tightly bound, the pocong is said to appear in an eerie, earthbound form—its movements limited to unsettling hops or silent floating, forever caught between life and death.

In the haunting “Pocong” episode of KMJS Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie, audiences are drawn into the chilling story of Mark, played by Miguel Tanfelix. A young seaman striving to fulfill his dream for his grandmother, but Mark’s dream voyage turns into a nightmare. As the ship sails into dark and uncharted waters, whispers of a Pocong sighting spread fear among the crew. Seafarers believe that a glimpse of the Pocong aboard their vessel foretells tragedy. With terror mounting and fate hanging in the balance, the question remains: Will the crew escape the haunting, or will the sea claim their souls?

Joining Miguel Tanfelix in this spine-chilling segment are Jon Lucas, Kristofer Martin, Elijah Alejo, Phi Palmos, Art Acuña, Karl Medina, Arra San Agustin, and Ms. Eva Darren. The episode is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Yam Laranas, renowned for his masterful work in films like Sigaw and The Road.

This tale is inspired by a true story submitted by Mark Bryan Peñaroso of Iloilo City. A former seaman, Mark’s terrifying experience unfolded during his first voyage at sea. Now retired from sailing, he works as a maritime instructor—passing on not just his expertise, but also the chilling memory of what he once encountered in the silent, open waters.

Catch KMJS Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie in cinemas nationwide starting November 26! Prepare for a new kind of horror that will leave you breathless long after the screen fades to black.

Tyrone Tan: From Chinito Charmer to Confident Contender

He’s one of our favorite Chinito Charmers here on Big Beez Buzz — Tyrone Tan. We first featured him back in February 2022, during the height of the pandemic, when everything yes, including interviews  had to be improvised. Tyrone was young, a bit timid, and admittedly quite the quiet guy back then. Yet even then, his charm and sincerity shone through, making that conversation one of the most delightful moments we had during those lockdown days.

Fast forward three years later, Tyrone returns to Big Beez Buzz, still the same shy cutie we fondly remember, but now with newfound confidence and maturity.

This time, Tyrone steps onto a bigger stage as he joins Mister Chinatown Philippines 2025, where he will compete alongside 13 other candidates in one of the most prestigious pageants within the Chinoy community.

Interestingly, Tyrone entered the competition as a wildcard candidate, joining after the official press presentation. When asked why he hadn’t joined in the past, he admitted that he never really saw himself as a pageant type of guy. Sports had always been his comfort zone, and he preferred the adrenaline of competition over the spotlight of pageantry.

However, life had other plans. Now that he’s part of Mister Chinatown Philippines, Tyrone channels his athletic discipline and competitive spirit into this new arena. Preparing for the competition, he focuses not only on the physical aspect but also on his mental and spiritual growth. He believes that joining a pageant requires more than just physical strength — it demands mental toughness and resilience to endure the challenges that come with being a candidate.

Tyrone shared that during his first week in the competition, he came in with his game face on, quietly observing who might be his toughest rivals. But as the competition progressed, he realized that his biggest competition was himself, and that the journey would be more fulfilling if he treated everyone as friends rather than rivals.

As he got to know his fellow candidates, Tyrone began to see them as brothers rather than competitors. He found himself becoming part of a community within a community — one that values camaraderie, growth, and shared experiences as much as individual achievement.

Through this experience, Tyrone has not only embraced a new kind of challenge but also discovered a deeper sense of connection and purpose. The boy who once preferred staying behind the scenes is now learning to shine under the spotlight not just for himself, but for the friendships and brotherhood he has built along the way.

Three years after that first car interview, Tyrone Tan proves that growth doesn’t always mean changing who you are. Sometimes, it’s about becoming more comfortable with the person you’ve always been.

The Mister and Miss Chinatown Philippines 2025 coronation night happens on October 26 at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City, Cubao. Support our favorite Chinito Charmer, Tyrone Tan!
