The Past Shakes, The Present Rattles, and The Future Rolls: #SRREvilOrigins Unleashes Its Official Full Trailer

From the eerie halls of a convent in the 18th century, to present day Halloween Masquerade Ball, to a dystopian Philippines in the future, the 17th installment of the classic Shake, Rattle, and Roll is bringing three stories of fear from different era this coming Christmas Day of 2025.

Regal Entertainment Inc. has officially dropped the official full trailer of their 51st Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Shake Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins. The trailer that was dropped Friday night (November 7) gives us a glimpse of what we will be expecting from the three latest tales of horror (soon to be classics) from the past, present, and future.

The first episode, set in 1775, follows a nun named Clara, portrayed by Carla Abellan. Gifted — or cursed — with clairvoyance, Clara begins to see shadows and eerie apparitions lurking within the monastery’s halls. But little does she know, a dark secret lies buried deep within the silent walls of the abbey, concealed beneath echoes of prayer and the blinding faith of those who dwell within. The nuns in the convent has to survive the night as darkness looms and an unknown creature wreaks havoc inside the convent

The second episode, set in 2025, follows a group of young Halloween partygoers led by Faye (Francine Diaz) and Sean (Seth Fedelin). What begins as a night of fun and thrill quickly turns into a nightmare, as a group of masked serial killers crashes their celebration, turning the party into a bloody hunt, claiming victims one by one.

As chaos unfolds, one question remains: will the survivors live long enough to see the future?

The third episode, set in 2050, revisits the aftermath of the Halloween massacre of 2025. Twenty-five years later, the Philippines has become a dystopian nightmare, ruled by the very beings once thought to be masked serial killers, now revealed as aswangs, terrorizing the nation.

At the forefront of the resistance to the aswang is Rosdan (Richard Gutierrez), alongside Edris (Ivana Alawi), whose mysterious connection to the fateful Halloween night drives the story forward. Together with a small group of remaining humans, they must fight to overthrow the aswangs’ reign of terror.

The question remains: will they survive long enough to reclaim their world, or is humanity doomed under the aswangs’ rule?
