As Cinemas Reopen, 47th Metro Manila Film Festival Announces 8 Official Entries

After doing an online edition for the 46th edition last year, the Metro Manila Film Festival, the country's biggest festival of Filipino movies is raring to go back to cinemas in their 47th year. 

As the quarantine restrictions eases in the whole country, the Metro Manila Development Authority or the MMDA which is the lead agency of the film festival along with  the MMFF 2021 Executive Committee led by Ms Boots Anson Roa has formally announced the 8 participating movies of this year's festival.



1. A Hard Day Starring: Dingdong Dantes, John Arcilla Producer: Viva Films Director: Law Fajardo

2. Big Night Starring: Christian Bables Producer: The Idea First Company Director: Jun Robles Lana

3. Love at First Stream Starring: Anthony Jennings, Kaori Oinuma, Daniella Stranner, and Jeremiah Lisbo Producer: Star Cinema Directed By: Cathy Garcia Molina

4. Kun Maupay Man It Panahon Starring: Daniel Padilla, Charon Santos Producer: Globe Studios, Cinematografica Films Director: Carlo Francis Manatad


5. Nelia Starring: Wynwyn Marquez Producer: A&Q Production Director: Lester Dimaranan

6. Wag Kang Lalabas Starring: Kim Chiu, Aiko Melendez, and Beauty Gonzales Producer: Obra Cinema Director: Adolf Alix Jr.


7. The ExorSIS Starring: Toni Gonzaga, Alex Gonzaga Producer: TINCAN Director: Fifth Solomon


8. Huling Ulan Sa Tag Araw Starring: Rita Daniella, Ken Chan Producer: Heaven's Best Entertainment Director: Louie Ignacio

Last November 10, the Inter Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Diseases or the IATF finally gave a go signal for cinemas to re open with minimum health protocols and limited capacity. 

The festival has also scrapped the online streaming and will focus more on the cinema streaming all movies are going to be shown in cinemas this December 25.
