This month of August our Guy of the Month issue is going a little bit extra as we will going to feature the 30 candidates of the 8th edition of the Misters of Filipinas pageant. Since we are still in a pandemic all guys are interviewed via Zoom, we are getting to know each one of the 30 Misters starting this July 31 up until the grand coronation night on August 29 in Dumaguete City, province of Negros Oriental.
For our first feature, we had a really good conversation with Misters #1 from Davao del Norte, Norman Coronel Jr., usually the first candidates always sets the mood for every pageant that's why it's very difficult to be on the first line of battle coz you should always come prepare for everything and Norman did really well with our interview, such a pleasing guy and very game.
Norman Coronel Jr. is 28 years old, stands at 5'8" tall with a waist line of 31 inches. Norman is currently working as an online English tutor, he worked in Thailand before going back here in the Philippines, and on his spare time he loves to play musical instruments like guitar and piano, he also loves reading books and watching horror movies.
Travelling is one of Norman's favorites, he loves to explore different kinds of cultures, traditions, and specially food that these countries offered. He already gone as far as Maldives, South Korea, and India to name a few and of course living in a province like Davao del Norte where there are lots of majestic beaches to offer, most probably Norman could be your ultimate Beach and Travel buddy.

Misters Of Filipinas
Joining Misters of Filipinas, Norman wants to promote his home province and his advocacies that center more on livelihood and products that are specialized in Davao del Norte particularly Banana, being dubbed as the Banana Capital of the Philippines his advocacy centers in the Musa Fabric advocacy.
Musa is a fabric made of Banana and Abaca fibers that are made by prisoners from the three jail institutions in the province, Norman wants to showcase these Musa Fabrics not only to the rest of the country, but hopefully internationally as well.
Norman said that joining a pageant now is a lot more difficult since they are still in MECQ in the Davao region when we had our interview, their movement is very limited although he is still able to comply with what the pageant requires him to do.
For Norman being passionate of what he is doing, being considerable to the people surrounding him, being compassionate to give service and being responsible to commit the job that is given are the best characteristic that a Misters of Filipinas should have have and he believes that he got those characteristics making him deserving to be on top.

Body Talk
1. How do you take care of your body?
"Ah dati pa naman kahit hindi ako sumasali ng pageants I do workout na, I do cross fit, cross fit yung pinaka paborito ko na talaga and way before when I was college I am a member of a dance group in my university I am a scholar there and kasali dun sa workshop namin specially yung warm up yung exercises before you do the things that you need to do in a dance group. Yung training palang, yung workshop, yung warm up palang namin parang bugbugan na yun."
2. Do you follow any workout routines?
"I have a program routine, I usually workout Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. But everyday I do cardio I do treadmill because we have a treadmill here, we have a stationary bike and also I do cardio on YouTube"
3. Any diet that you follow?
"I eat breakfast now like cereals with peanut butter, nuts, and milk with banana that's the food I eat every morning. And then afternoon I prepare chicken breast talaga, kamote, hindi na ko nagra rice eh I think one month na din, dito kasi sa amin sinisigurado kasi na merong gulay talaga every meal"
4. Favorite Part of Your Body
"Favorite part of my body, I think my shoulder or my butt, hindi naman malaki ang butt ko katamtaman lang naman"
5. Part of your part of your body that needs improvement?
"Ang hirap magpa abs eh talaga napakahirap, kasi hindi lang yung nagwoworkout ka lagi ng abs mo everyday tapos hindi ka naman nagkacalorie deficit yun kasi yung kailangan mo eh para malabas mo yung abs, well lahat naman daw ng tao may abs eh natatabunan lang ng mga fats natin so yun kailangan ko itrain yun kung gusto ko magka abs and I need to count my calories every day talaga."
6. Any tips you can give to those who wants to be healthy?
"I know a lot of people is struggling, but if you commit yourself in the beginning its not really easy the process is not really easy, but you need to trust the process slowly step by step and eventually will adapt it"
"Sa una napakahirap talaga, gusto mo umayaw, but think the reason why you do that because at the end of the day or at the end of the year maybe if you will commit yourself doing that things you can see the result and that result will make you happy."

"Hmmm, hindi kasi ako mapanghusga talaga agad agad ng tao eh kasi alam ko may kanya kanya tayong pinagdadaanan sa buhay, siguro pag nakilala ko na yung tao mas nagugustuhan ko sya, pagnakilala mo sya at nalaman mo yung kwento ng buhay nya parang sa akin mas natutunan kong gustuhin yung tao na yun."
4. And what turns you off?
"Yung mayabang na pagdating ng panahon hindi na kaya panindigan."
