#UAAP81 Day 2: Tamaraws gets first win over La Salle, Adamson stuns defending championsAteneo



The Far Eastern University Tamaraws held on to their experience as they took down the De La Salle Green Archers 68-61.

The Tamaraws opened the game slow going down 11-14 in the opening quarter, but the Tams were able to get their things going in the succeeding quarter after they cut the lead of La Salle down to a 25-26 advantage at the end of the first half.

Going to the second half the game intensifies even more as the FEU continues to push the Green Archers to their limits as they were force to commit crucial turnovers, the Tams were able to tie the game at 48 via Axel Inigo's triple.

In the final period, FEU and La Salle extends their tight runs but the Tamaraws benefited at the end part of the match as they were able to peak right before the game ends.

Arvin Tolentino led the Tamaraws in this game after pouring 14 points, Kenneth Tuffin added 11 points, while Axel Inigo had 10 points.

Leonard Santillan's 19 points and 10 rebounds and Aljun Melecio's 10 markers weren't enough to give La Salle their first win.

This is the first time after two season that FEU manages to win in their opening match against La Salle.

The Adamson Falcons soared high in their opening game after they stunned the defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles 74-70.

Jerrick Ahanmisi showed off his shooting skills as he scored 23 points for the soaring Falcons in this game, newbie Vince Magbuhos added another 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Matt Nieto led the Blue Eagles in this game with 21 points, Raffy Verano added 10 points.
