The Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers has been one of the most consistent teams in the NCAA, although they finished 3rd in the elimination round with an 11-7 win-loss record last season 93 they weren't able to advance in the step ladder semifinals as they were beaten by #4 seed San Sebastian in a knockout game.
The Heavy Bombers are coming to season 94 with a quite depleted line up, bidding farewell to their foreign reinforcements and their ace point guard Teytey Teodoro, but young guns such as Karl Bordon, Jed Mendoza and Mark Dela Virgen along with rookies Ry Dela Rosa, Agem Miranda, Mark Mallari are expected to fill in the void left in the line up of JRU.
Vergel Meneses is still the head coach of JRU and the challenge for them this season is if they could still retain their spot in the top 4.
