The Significant Other tackles the story of two female from different walks of life, the first one is Nicole(Erich) a lass from the province who is an aspiring model and beauty queen, the second is Maxene(Lovi) a comeback-ing super model who hides her family away from the spotlight that might hinder her comeback in the modeling scene, the two become best of friends despite being from both ends.
The lie that Maxene created backs fire at her as her husband Edward(Tom) fell in love with Nicole thinking he is single the two commits to each other not knowing that She is bound to become a mistress.
Will Maxene be able to bring her family back together? or will Edward choose Nicole?

The Significant Other is like any other mistress/infidelity movie that we saw before, the plot, the story line is almost similar to other movies of the same genre, but what separated it from the rest is the performance of the actors specially with Lovi Poe and Erich Gonzales.
I've watched several movies of Lovi Poe and I must say that her performance in this movie is one of her best or I should say this is her best performance I've seen. I must say that I am agreeing to her that portraying the role of the wife is more difficult, but she was able to deliver it excellently.
Erich on the other hand was able to play with her character, she was able to make the character innocent and naughty at the same time, so far this is her most daring performance.
The movie got some raunchy and wild love scenes that surprised me because I didn't expected it to be that way though I must commend Lovi, Tom, and Erich for doing such intimate scenes masterfully and still with taste and not going over board, also kudos to Direk Joel for that well executed love scenes in the movie.

Over all the movie was good, the transition of the story was smooth and I am sure many will relate to this post valentines day movie. Many quotable quotes and remarkable scenes are up for you to here and to see and maybe you can keep it for future tongue lashing confrontation with a mistress just kidding, The Significant Other is a must see movie.
