The Juniors Basketball tournament of the 80th season of the UAAP kicked off today at the San Juan Arena.
In the opening game, last year's runners up the NU Bullpups crushed the UE Junior Warriors 107-69. Matthew Manalang top scored for the Bullpups with 20 points, while Agem Miranda led the Junior Warriors with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
In the second match, the Ateneo Blue Eaglets beats up the depleted Adamson Falcons 82-64. Kai Sotto led the Blue Eaglets with 24 points and 12 Rebounds, while Jose Sabandal had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Falcons in this game.
The Defending Champions, FEU-FERN Baby Tamaraws survived the late run of the De La Salle Zobel Junior Archers 71-67 for the third match of the day. LJay Gonzales led the charge for the Baby Tamaraws with 16 points, Chris Calimag led the Junior Archers with 17 points.
The USTHS Tiger Cubs dominates the UPIS Junior Maroons 97-62 to wrapped up the opening day of the Juniors Basketball, John Cansino led the Tiger Cubs with 28 points and 11 rebounds, while Matt Santiago led UPIS with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
