The Queen of Teleserye Theme Song’s return to recording also features the upbeat “Para Bang, Para Lang,” a song she dedicates to her mother. It is also Angeline’s second composition that she recorded, after “Sana Sana” off of her 2013 album “Higher Love.”

Serving as one of the highlights in “@#LoveAngelineQUinto” is the relatable “Paano Ba Ang Huwag Kang Mahalin,” the first-ever song written by Darla that narrates the pain of letting go.

Celebrate Chinese New Year at Evia Lifestyle Center

Welcome the Year of the Red Fire Rooster at Evia Lifestyle Center in Vista Alabang on January 28-29, 2017 to attract prosperity and good luck all year long.

On Chinese New Year’s Day, January 28, make sure to catch the Chinese Dragon and Lion Dance show in the Atrium at Evia Lifestyle Center at 4:00 PM. Have your photo taken beside the Money Tree with red envelopes that are symbols of wealth and prosperity, and shop for lucky charms at the Chinese New Year Bazaar. Both are located at the Atrium from January 21 to 29. Also watch the New Year fireworks display on January 28 at 6:30 PM at Evia Lifestyle Center Outdoor Promenade.

Catching a Dragon and Lion Dance is lucky because the sounding of the drums and cymbals purify the atmosphere and chase negative energy away. The presence of a Lion or Dragon scares away evil spirits and brings good luck to businesses and activities in the area. Since Lions and Dragons are symbols of strength and good luck, seeing them perform will make their good luck rub off on you.

The Chinese give away red envelopes that contain money on Chinese New Year because red is the symbol of energy, happiness and good luck. Actually, the color red is more significant than the money inside it because wrapping money in red envelopes is expected to bestow more happiness and blessings on the receivers. Have your photo taken with the red envelopes to remind you of good fortune all year long.

As for Chinese charms, traditionally it is best to get a new charm every Chinese New Year to enhance one’s good fortune. The right charms for the year help align with the new energy of the Year of the Rooster and make way for new beginnings. This year’s lucky charms are, of course, the Rooster, as well as Feng Shui coins, Lotus Flowers, prosperity candles, wind chimes, and personalized feng shui bracelets.

All these can be found and experienced at Evia Lifestyle Center from January 21-29, 2017.

Review: Foolish Love

Foolish Love (January 24, 2017)

Directed By: Joel Lamangan

Starring: Angeline Quinto, Jake Cuenca, Tommy Esguerra, and Miho Nishida.

Genre: Romantic Comedy.

The story of Foolish Love revolves around the story of four people, Virgie, Lea, JC, and "Rey". On how desperate they are to find their forever specially Virgie, that in her desperation she already forgotten to put inhibitions to herself in looking for the right person until she fell in love with the wrong guy.
Foolish Love stars Angeline Quinto, Jake Cuenca, Miho Nishida, and Tommy Esguerra. First of all I would like to commend Miho and Tommy for delivering a good performance in their first movie, especially Miho since I really enjoyed watching her character very relatable. I just wish that their next movie will be a solo one. Angeline delivered nonstop laughter in her scenes, she really do it best in comedy. Jake’s character was kinda stiff and very mysterious and he did really well in portraying it.
I really don’t have any problems with the artists portraying the characters, the problem I think came from the story. The storyline of the movie went well from the start up to the part of Tomiho’s ending that was the peak of the movie, but after that the story suddenly went down for some weird reasons the story became weird and awkward.

Foolish Love is a good movie if you want to at least laugh, but it I guess it’s not for all.

Rating: 7/10

Review: Ilawod

Ilawod (January 18, 2017)
Directed By: Dan Villegas
Starring:  Ian Veneracion, Iza Calzado, Xyriel Manabat, Harvey Bautista, and Terry Malvar
Genre: Horror/Suspense/Thriller

I was able to watch the movie “Ilawod” and I was really impressed with the movie. It is a classic horror movie that tells the story of a journalist who doesn’t believe in these supernatural happenings that he is covering, until one day he himself experience bizarre things that slowly destroys his family.
The movie stars Ian Veneracion as Dennis and Iza Calzado as Cathy, Xyriel Manabat and Harvey Bautista played as their children Bea and Ben. Surprisingly, Ian and Iza’s big screen team up was really good they actually got good chemistry.
Going back to the movie, the family of Dennis began to fall apart, starting with his eldest son Ben, who’s started to become rebellious after meeting a girl named Isla (Terry Malvar) things became more complicated as his sister Bea started to experience bizarre hallucinations caused by the girl.
One thing I liked about the movie is that the storytelling was really simple and not too complex, it is as if I am watching a horror version of a romcom movie of Direk Dan Villegas. Though the movie wasn't really that horrifying for me, still it was an astounding one.
I was quite annoyed with the musical scoring because it really kept me at the edge of my seat waiting for someone to surprise me, though it was one of the reasons why the movie became shocking and hair raising as I think every time the scene changes the musical score intensifies as if there’s someone or something waiting to shock or surprise the audiences.
The dark ambiance of the movie added the chilling and eerie effect to the film, it’s just that the set of the movie was a bit too simple and bland as I am used to horror films that has a great set design. The only thing I liked about the location is the one in the province specially the lurid river.
There are certain parts in the movie, especially the scenes where the characters of Ben and Isla became too intimate might turn off other viewers, but for me Harvey and Terry were able to make it decent and not too obscene for their age.
In the final part of the movie I felt that something was lacking in the resolution part of the story, or maybe because I wasn’t used to the finale imposed by the director. Anyway, for me the lesson that Ilawod wanted to share with people is that parents should really take care of their kids, especially those who are crossing the puberty period are very vulnerable and also we should respect every belief and practice and even those elements in every place we visit.
Overall, Ilawod is a great film that will make you scream and leave you at the edge of your seat. The story is good, it is fluid and not too complex. If you are looking for a good horror movie Ilawod is the movie for you.

Adult Websites got blocked in the Philippines

Sorry folks it seems that the hay days of adult video streaming sites are almost over in the Philippines as it is now blocked by the local internet service providers or ISP in pursuant of the Republic Act 9775 or the Anti Child Pornographic Act of 2009. Popular adult sites such as xvideos, redtube, and the most popular Pornhub (where the Philippines ranked 13 in 2016, the only South East Asian country on the list) are now down, and there's no sign of it going back to business anytime soon.
