The UP Fighting Maroons shut down the Adamson Falcons 70-66 to break out from the triple tie at the bottom of the standings.
Even though the Maroons weren't able to start off the opening quarter on a high note, letting the Falcons soar high early with a 20-9 lead, but UP was able to turn the tables around as they reverse the output in the second period with a 21-9 quarter score to give them a 30-29 lead at the end of the first half.
The Fighting Maroons continues to dictate the pace of the game going into the second half as they extend their lead up 50-44, in the final period the Falcons tried to make a comeback after they trimmed the lead of UP down at 63-69 with less than a minute remaining in the game.
Maroon Rookie Joaquin Javier Gomez De Liano had a break out game having 13 points and 6 rebounds, while Jett Manuel and Paul Desiderio combined 32 points for UP in this game.
Papi Sarr had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Falcons as the fall down 4-5, Robbie Manalang added 10 points.

The FEU Tamaraws proved to be the number one defensive team in the league after they take down the UST Tigers 59-48, to move up 7-2 in the standings.
The Tamaraws opened the game with an early 10-2 run over UST, they were able to maintain that margin until the closing of the first quarter at 16-8. Going into the second period FEU pushed their lead up 23-11, but the Tigers were able to cut off the lead of the Tamaraws and close in at 22-23, though FEU was able to make 8-1 run to take a 31-23 at the end of the first half.
UST tries to cut off the lead of the Tamaraws in the third period down to a 41-35, but Ron Dennison was able to beat the buzzer to maintain their lead at 8, 45-37 to end the third. Moving into the final period the Tamaraws struggled a bit as the defense of UST became pesky, forcing them to commit turnovers that cut off the deficit down to 49-43.
The Tamaraws were able to recover quickly in the final minutes of the game, pushing their lead back up to 10 at 58-48 with 23 seconds left in the game.
Joe Trinidad was the lone spark plug for the Tamaraws in this game, being the lone FEU player to score in double digits with 16 points, 12 of which came from the three point area. Meanwhile Raymar Jose was a point shy from making another double-double, having 9 points and 14 rebounds,
On the side of UST, Louie Vigil led the offense of the struggling tigers, having 18 points. Marvin Lee added 12 points and Jeepy Faundo had a double-double performance with 10 points and 17 rebounds,
