The University of the East failed to enter the final four last season, finishing in sixth with a 6-8 record. Entering the season 79 with an almost intact line up only losing Chris Javier from last season the Red Warriors are aiming to get back in the Final Four headed by team captain Paul Varilla who average 9.55 points per game and one of UE's most promising stars last season Edison Battiller who average 11.36 points per game.
Returning for his third year as the head coach of the Red Warriors, Coach Derrick Pumaren aims to get UE back on its winning tradition. UE last had a taste of a championship title back in 1985, 2009 was the last time they entered the Finals, and that was also the last time that the Red Warriors entered the final four.
This year the Red Warriors promises to be fiercer and fearless in every game. UE will face the NU Bulldogs in their first game on the 7th of September, 2pm, at the Mall of Asia Arena. Will this year finally be the year that the Red Warriors to return in the final four?

My expectation this coming season? Hmm yung rank namin last season mas magiging maganda this coming season Dahil hindi lang Final four yung Target namin This season 2.Being one of the young players in the roster of UE, what do you think will be your biggest contributions in the team?
As a Point guard siguro yung Leadership ko sa team at kung paano ko sila seset up sa loob nang court then sabi nga ni coach sakin na wag kong isipin na bata pako or pangalawang taon ko palang sa Team kailangan maging veterans na ko maglaro so kailngan ko talagang maorganize yung team as a point Guard 3.How would you rate UE this season? 10 highest- 1 lowest?.

Strenghts namin siguro yung Quickness namin and ofcourse yung Defense namin dahil lagi ngang sinasabi samin ni coach na yung Defense namin yung mag dedectate ng Offense namin and weakness? Siguro dahil all Filipino Line up kami so wala kaming Import mahihirapan lang kami sa ilalim. Pero hindi yun reason samin. 5.What preparations you've done so far for season 79?
Preperation?? Hmm ilang months talaga namin pinaghandaan to eh lalo netong mga last 4 months before UAAP Traiming namin sa Umaga after non nag eextra workout pa kami then ako pag dating ng gabi mag sushooting pako or mag eextra Workout then minsan umuuwi ako samin para din mag shooting and makalaro ko yung 3 kong kapatid na player din and kasabay ko sila magextra. 6. What motivates you/Who inspires you to play basketball?
kapag binabalikan ko yung mga panahon na nag uumpisa pa lang ako kung paano ako naghihirap sa Training and gaano ako kaadik sa basketball and aside from that yung Family ko and yung Team ko syempre minsan kami kami yung nag momotivate sa isat isa. And Dad ko talaga yung nag inspire sakin maglaro and yung Kuya ko kasi nung bata ako boxing yung gusto kong sport eh hahaha pero pag dating ko ng age of 7-9 puro basketball na talaga dahil din sa kuya ko dahil siya yung kalaro ko palagi yung ka 1 on 1 ko tapos lagi niya kong sinasama pag dumadayonsila haha then nung naging varsity na ko nung elem laging nanjan yung tatay ko nakasuporta palagi sakin until now Sa College ko. 7.
