Emo Night Manila (ENM) is thrilled to announce its largest emo and pop punk party yet, happening on September 7, 2024, at the Brooklyn Warehouse.

Emo Night Manila (ENM) is thrilled to announce its largest emo and pop punk party yet, happening on September 7, 2024, at the Brooklyn Warehouse. The DJ-based dance party will feature anthems from the 2000s, bringing together emo and pop-punk fans for an unforgettable night of music and camaraderie.

In a spectacular collaboration with Emo Night Bangkok, ENM is set to elevate the emo experience to new heights. This marks an exciting milestone as Emo Night Manila continues to grow since its humble beginnings in a small Poblacion bar. What started as an intimate gathering has evolved into one of Manila's most anticipated events, consistently selling out and now drawing attendees of up to 900 guests.

Following a successful anniversary celebration in June, which saw two full-house shows in Boracay at Exit Bar, ENM's reputation for delivering electrifying experiences is firmly established. The recent transition from small bar shows to larger events, including one sold-out show at Baked Studios, Makati, underscores emo culture's lively and enduring appeal in the Philippines.

ENM was born alongside the recent emo revival, with the return of beloved bands like Saosin, Simple Plan, Silverstein, Boys Like Girls, and Fall Out Boy to Manila. The demand for these shows highlighted Filipinos' undying love for the genre, and Emo Night Manila has since become a cherished space where millennials can relive their teenage years and Gen-Z can experience the excitement of emo culture for the first time.

Emo Night Manila is more than just a party; it’s a welcoming and accepting space where personal expression thrives. Guests are encouraged to dress as casually or as thematically as they wish, with the focus solely on enjoying the music and connecting with fellow fans. The event offers a rare opportunity in Manila to embrace alternative culture and fashion in an open and inclusive setting.

Joining the festivities will be guest DJs Fahmy and Polina from Emo Night Bangkok (@emonightbkk), who will bring their unique flair to the turntables, adding an exciting international twist to the event.

Gloc-9 Unveils Heart-Wrenching Tale of Cherished Memories in New Single “Ala”

The ever-prolific songwriter Gloc-9 has a new song out and it’s called “Ala.” The fresh single is something deeply emotional and it masterfully weaves together themes of love, family, and the fragility of memory.

The title "Ala" is a playful yet effective wordplay of the Filipino word "alaala," meaning memories, which serves as the heart of this storytelling narrative.

In "Ala," Gloc-9 takes listeners on a journey through the life of a man who reflects on the cherished memories of his love story, from meeting his partner, building a family, to growing old together. The song begins with a celebration of life’s milestones, capturing the joy of marriage and the blessing of children. As the years pass, the couple's bond remains strong, even as their children move away, leaving them with only each other.

The narrative takes a heart-wrenching turn as the man begins to experience symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, a condition that slowly erodes his memories. Gloc-9's lyrics vividly depict the fear and confusion that come with the diagnosis, as well as the heartbreak of forgetting the very people and moments that once defined his life. The verses are filled with raw emotion, portraying the man's struggle to hold onto the memories that are slipping away, and the pain of his family as they watch him fade.

The rap song effectively depicts the inevitability of time and the importance of treasuring every moment with loved ones. The track serves as a reminder of the beauty and sorrow that memories hold, making "Ala" a standout piece in Gloc-9's growing discography.

The song is part of the latest New Music Friday Philippines and Bago sa Kalye playlists on Spotify.

Griff, Arthur Miguel, Stell, and Dilaw headline Warner Music Philippines’ ‘We Play Here’ 2024

Warner Music Philippines’ We Play Here is back, this time with a new set of amazing artists and exciting activities that fans and music enthusiasts can’t miss!

A Curated Music Celebration

We Play Here is a series of unique music experiences designed to bring local and international Warner Music Group artists front and center. The We Play Here ecosystem features live performances, fan engagements, and exciting partnerships – ultimately bringing together Filipinos through music.

Coming from the success of last year's event, this year's We Play Here is bigger and better than ever. To bring their artists’ exciting performances to a wider audience, an expanded series of events will be hosted in different schools running from this year into next.

Local and International Headliners

Dilaw makes a comeback at the We Play Here stage, much to the delight of their fans. The Filipino band is well known for their single “Uhaw (Tayong Lahat),” which went viral in 2023. They have over three million monthly listeners on Spotify, and have recently released a new track titled “Nilalang.”

Stell, the main vocalist of SB19, will also be giving a dance-inducing performance. After making his solo debut, Stell released an EP called “Room,” which features songs that fans can expect to hear during We Play Here. Another headliner not to miss is pop artist Arthur Miguel, who continues to shine in the local music industry with hits like “Lihim” and “Ang Wakas.”

Marking her first performance in the Philippines, this year’s We Play Here international headliner is British singer-songwriter Griff. Fans will be treated to electrifying songs from her debut album “vertigo,” which was released earlier this year. Despite the upbeat nature of Griff’s songs, a deeper examination reveals themes of introspection. One good example of this is “Tears For Fun,” which shows the complexity of knowing something isn’t good for you, but not being able to resist. On the other hand, “Anything” talks about a relationship where you would do anything for your significant other. Overall, the album offers a relatable look at relationships and love.

Griff has hit many milestones throughout her career, from opening for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in 2023 for a few European dates including Portugal, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands, to opening for Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour in London and being a supporting act for Sabrina Carpenter’s US tour later this year.

Performing alongside these headliners are up and coming artists Kahel, Letters from June, Sugarcane, Paul Pablo, and PLAYERTWO.

Fans will get to experience special interactive booths at the event, such as Arthur Miguel's "What if?" and "AM Hugots" wall, Dilaw's "Nilalang" Portraits, and Sugarcane's "Pagbigyan" Tarot Readings.

Other installments include Charli xcx's BRAT photobooth, Griff's Gachapon Machine, and the  "Sikat Sa Pinas" Music & Lyrics booth. The famous WishBus will also be parked in front of the venue, with its final schedule to be announced by Wish FM 107.5.

Presented by Warner Music Philippines in partnership with KDR Music House and UP Adcore, We Play Here will kick off on August 23, at the University of the Philippines College of Science Amphitheater. Early Bird tickets are sold out, but fans can still buy regular tickets (P750 each) here

Stay updated on the different We Play Here promos and and announcements by following their FacebookInstagram, and Twitter accounts.

The Script: 'Satellites World Tour' in Manila on February 11, 2025

With over 10 billion streams, 12 million album sales, six UK #1 albums and two Platinum-certified US singles, the multi-awarded and platinum-selling Irish band, THE SCRIPT is coming back to Manila and bringing their SATELLITES WORLD TOUR on February 11, 2025 at the Araneta Coliseum. Presented by Midas Promotions and Wilbros Live. Tickets go on-sale on August 10, 10AM via TicketNet.com.ph and TicketNet outlets nationwide.

After reuniting for select shows with The Script family in 2023, the band is ready to hit the road and head out to big stages of their own. This will see them play to over 2 million fans around the world this year and more next year. The Script will be performing their biggest hits and fan favourites from their six studio albums like “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, “Breakeven”, “For The First Time”, “Hall of Fame”, “Superheroes”and songs from their highly anticipated new album ‘Satellites’ featuring the new hit song “Both Ways”.

Glen Power says, “.. we’re The Script, and now we have something to prove: that there is life and light after the darkness.” Vowing to pay tribute to their friend (Mark Sheehan) by continuing the band they had built together, vocalist Danny O’Donoghue returned to the studio and experimented in a number of ways. What emerged is ‘Satellites’, an utterly uplifting collection of songs that forges a new future for The Script while remembering that although Mark may no longer be here, he remains a vital part of everything that they do.

Danny explains“The album cover is silhouettes of me, Glen and Ben Sargeant, our bassist.. Then we have a hooded silhouette, because the air of Mark is still there. He always will be, but it's also giving a tip of the hat to the future. It'll never be the same Script. We're just trying to get on and do what it is that we all feel is the next right thing to do and that’s to keep making more great music.”
