TikTok EnTRAPs Users with Debut of First-Ever Korean Drama

K-drama fans of Kim Dong Han can now get to watch her together with popular actors Woo Davi, Park Lee Hyun and Son Hyun Woo when TikTok, the short-form video app with a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy, unveils the first episode of its new Korean drama ‘TRAP’ on 30 July 2020. 

‘TRAP’ co-produced by TikTok and tvN D, is the drama set to be an addictive mix of romance and thriller, and expected to be as riveting as other past dramas produced by tvN D. It is centred around university students in their twenties and unfolds the intricate story of love, temptation and betrayal. Parts of the story that cannot be told through the main episodes, such as the inner conflict and intimate feelings of the protagonists, will be released as hidden clips on TikTok.

At the beginning of the drama, the leading characters each create a TikTok account and actively engage on the platform, including following their friends and lovers on TikTok and liking their videos. TikTok takes it a step further by creating an immersive experience for the audience. After viewing the drama, fans can look forward to communicating with the main characters on TikTok and involve themselves even deeper into the story. 

There will be a total of 12 nail-biting episodes, which promise to hook viewers from the start. Fans on TikTok will also get an exclusive, first-hand view of ‘TRAP’ one week before the episodes are uploaded onto tvN D’s YouTube channel. 

TikTok strives to bring joy to its global community through its diverse array of content. It plans to create a new type of Korean drama with hidden clips, following the production of interactive content last year.

Miss Supranational Philippines franchise transfers to Miss World Philippines

In a sudden turn of events the Miss Supranational Philippines franchise is now with the ALV Events owned Miss World Philippines, this is after both parties announced today, July 28, on their official social media platforms that the Miss Supranational Philippines title will be 7th title for the MWP Pageant. 

In a letter dated July 24, Miss and Mister Supranational President Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski officially welcomed Arnold L. Vegafria as the newest franchise holder of the said pageant, stating that their organization was impressed by the production value of the events they produced. 

The Miss Supranational Philippines title joins Miss World Philippines, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Eco International, Miss Eco Teen International, Miss Multinational, and Miss Philippines Tourism. 

As the Miss Supranational Philippines title found its way to a new home, it's former franchise holder, the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. under Madame Stella Marquez-Araneta has lost two crowns in 2020 alone after Miss Universe Philippines parted its way earlier this year, leaving the oldest and most prestigious pageants down to 4 crowns, with Miss International being the top crown followed by Miss Intercontinental, Globe, and Grand International. 

Under BPCI the Philippines were able to produce 1 winner, with Mutya Johanna Datul winning the crown back in 2013, the franchise was first acquired by the BPCI in 2012 with then 1st runner up Elaine Moll was appointed as the first representative in the pageant where she placed 3rd runner up. 

In the succeeding years the Philippines was still able to make the cut in Miss Supranational, Yvethe Santiago and Rogelie Catacutan made it to the top 20 in 2014 and 2015, Joanna Eden made it to the Top 25 in 2016, Chanel Olive Thomas and Jehza Huelar both made it in the Top 10 in 2017 and 2018, while the last Miss Supra under BPCI Resham Saed made it to the Top 25 as well.

The Miss World Philippines 2020 pageant is rescheduled on January 2021. 

Binge-Watch on these New Regal Movies coming on Netflix this August

More Filipino films are coming your way on Netflix this August! As the country's oldest movie producer, Regal Entertainment ties up with Netflix to stream 5 of their movies that will start streaming this August 6. 

The first two Regal movies that will stream on August 6 are "Time and Again" starring Winwyn Marquez and Enzo Pineda, that tackles the story of Apol (Winwyn) a writer who got the chance to turn back time to meet her first love Ozzie (Enzo). "Time and Again" premiered in cinemas last February 20, 2019. 

Next is the movie "Stranded", starring Jessy Mendiola and Arjo Atayde, directed by Ice Idanan. "Stranded" tells the story of to contrasting people that are bound to cross their paths. Julia(Jessy), a career woman who is so dedicated on her job and Spencer(Arjo), a charming happy go lucky food delivery guy, two strangers gets stranded, will they get through the storm? Stranded premiered in cinemas April 20, 2019.

Jane Oineza starrer  Finding You and Us Again will stream on August 13 and 20 respectively. 

"Finding You" stars Jerome Ponce along with Jane Oineza, the movie tackles the story of Nel(Jerome) who is suffering in  mental condition called "Hypertymesia" which made him to remember everything in his past, except for one thing, he has a vivid memory of a girl that he can't recognized and he is eager to find out who that girl is, tagging along with him is his best friend Kit (Jane) to revisit that missing part on his memory. "Finding You" is directed by Easy Ferrer, the movie premiered last May 29, 2019.  

Next is the movie "Us Again", Jane stars with RK Bagatsing in this post Valentines Day movie that is about Margie(Jane) a Medical Technologist and Mike(RK), having experienced a bad break up from years ago Margie is cautious in getting back into a relationship in the fear of having her dreams of becoming a doctor be derailed again because of another heartbreak. "Us Again" is directed by Joy Aquino, it premiered last February 26 this is the last movie from Regal Films this 2020. 

From being the "Tanging Ina" Comedy Queen Aiai Delas Alas is "D Ninang" in the supposedly opening salvo movie of Regal Films this 2020. "D Ninang" is about Ditas(Aiai) a con artist who is like a female Robin Hood as she gives away all the stuff she stole to her inaanaks in the Barangay, thing change when her daughter lived with her. Premiered last January 22, 2020, the movie is directed by GB Sampedro.   

Love The Way U Lie Streaming on Netflix this August 20!

After the supposedly inaugural Summer Film Festival of the Metro Manila Film Festival last April 11, 2020 got cancelled due to the Pandemic, all of the 8 participating movies were all shelved in the meantime as the cinemas are closed until the community quarantine is over. Directed by RC Delos Reyes, "Love The Way U Lie" premieres on Netflix Asia this August 19!

MMFF Announces First Four Films for December 2020 Festival.

Despite the pandemic we are still facing the Metro Manila Film Festival has announced the first four film entries for the 2020 edition of the Festival this December, the first four entries are led by Regal Film’s movie adaptation of Bob Ong’s Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan starring Angie Ferro and Joshua Garcia, directed by Chito S. Roño. 

Toni Gonzaga and Alex Gonzaga movie is also in the festival from TinCan, Vice Ganda’s Praybeyt Benjamin 3 also enters the festival, and the 2020 version of the classic Magic Kingdom is also in the Festival entitled MagikLand starring Jun Urbano, Migs Cuaderno. 

The first four movies were chosen based on Script, the next four movies will be about the finished products. 

Last Black Saturday, April 11, 2020 was supposed to be the first Summer Metro Manila Film Festival, but due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine the festival was cancelled and the 8 competing movies were put on hold, the question is when and how will these movies premiering during our current situation and under the new normal?

Microsoft gets Edge Browser for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1.

Today, I just noticed that my 3 year old HP Envy laptop that still runs on Windows 8.1 had a quite long automatic update that took about 15 minutes and upon opening the laptop a very familiar Windows 10 only app was pinned on my task bar and it's Microsoft's latest browser which is the Edge Browser.  

The Microsoft Edge Browser Update came in to my laptop last July 1, there are no prerequisites need for those who are using Windows 8. 

It's actually good to see Microsoft seeding Windows 10 features on older version of the OS. (Actually if you are using a certified Windows OS you still can update your computer to the latest windows 10 OS, actually did that to my OG Surface Pro.)
